Constitution

The Rules We Agree Together.

Our constitution sets out what the DSA is for, how it’s run and how every member gets a say.

Version 1.0 · Page Updated 24 October 2026

At a Glance

  • The constitution is the DSA’s rulebook. It sets out how we’re run and how members have a say.

  • It’s still a draft. Members will vote on it at the launch meeting on Tuesday 3 November 2026.

  • You can read it now and send us questions or suggestions before the vote.

  • Need it in large print, Easy Read or another format? Just ask.

Why It Matters

The constitution is the backbone of the DSA. It makes sure we stay independent, run things democratically and answer to our members. It explains how people join and take part, how the committee is elected, how decisions are made and how they can be looked at again.

Most of all, it means every member gets a fair chance to be heard, and that different needs and circumstances are taken into account. Whether you’re at Elland Road every week or can’t get to matches at all, these rules keep the DSA focused on fairness, inclusion and the people it’s there for.

Have Your Say Before The Vote

The draft constitution will be voted on at the launch meeting on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Until then, it’s a proposal.

Have a read and let us know if anything’s unclear, or if you’d like it in a different format.

Where It’s At

  • Status: draft, awaiting members’ vote

  • Vote: Tuesday 3 November 2026

  • Current version: Version 1.0, 3 October 2026

What It Should Guarantee

  • A real say: clear ways for members to get involved, ask questions and put ideas forward.

  • Accountable leaders: open elections, clear roles and a committee that answers to members.

  • Fair decisions: an agreed way of handling proposals, concerns and disagreements, and of making changes in future.

Once agreed, the constitution itself is the official rulebook. This page is just a summary.

Got A Question?
